Home Adaptations

If you or a member of your family is having difficulty in managing at home because of a long term illness or disability, Social Services and Housing can assess your needs and advise you on what can be done to help you. Home Adaptations.

Trusted Assessors

Bracknell Forest Homes has trained staff who can carry out assessments for adaptation needs. The training was carried out by the Disabled Living Foundation and staff are known as Trusted Assessors. They are are able to assess for minor adaptations to help you round the home like:

  • Grab-rails
  • Stair hand-rails
  • Lighting
  • Lever taps
  • Shower seats
  • Toilet frames/seats.
If you feel that you would benefit from any of these adaptations, please contact the Supportive Housing Team, either Ruth Edminson on 01344 382909, or Julie Rose 01344 382910. They will arrange for a Trusted Assessors to visit you.

For more major adaptations, your request will be forwarded to the Occupational Therapists at Bracknell Forest Council, for a full assessment of your needs. The Trusted Assessor will discuss this with you at the time of their visit.
